The other morning session introduced Year 10 students to the VCE curriculum on offer at CGS in 2020. The boys were provided with a copy of the VCE Curriculum Guide and VCAA booklets to assist them in selecting a varied and balanced seven studies to take them into VCE and beyond.

At lunch time we welcomed back eight recent Old Boys, now undergraduates in a variety of courses, who spoke of what they’re studying, university life and personal insights into how they selected their VCE studies and where it led them. Many acknowledged they were in receipt of scholarships, which helped pay the bills, whilst others were combining part time work with study.

A member of EY’s recruitment team visited in the afternoon with two young men who are currently undertaking internships with the Top 4 firm. EY emphasised that they are no longer merely an accounting firm, but one keen to employ students from a variety of degree courses, whilst providing insights into the various pathway options to employment with them.

Thanks to all the teachers, and Old Boys, who took time out to make this an informative and inspiring day for our Year 10 cohort.
