House Music Competition 2024
Congratulations to all students who competed in the 58th annual House Music Competition on Wednesday 21 February. It has been a busy few weeks for the students as they prepared and rehearsed since early in the term.
The House Music Competition at Camberwell Grammar is an entirely student-run event, from repertoire selection to learning and rehearsing all items under student leadership. It is not an easy task, yet each House music leader guided their team capably.
It was thrilling to see how confidently students presented the results of their hard work and preparation. The work of the arrangers, conductors, and accompanists was impressive; so too was the way each House came together to sing with passion and conviction.
Congratulations to Clifford House, who were victorious on the night, and to all Houses for how they participated.
Many people contribute behind the scenes to the success of such an event. The House and Music staff supported students throughout the preparation period. Director of Music, Mr Ben Bishop, and Mrs Jessica Johnson arranged all the planning, and scheduling and kept a watchful eye over it all. The adjudicators on the evening, Mr Andrew Leach and Mr Mark Kerr had the difficult task of deciding an overall winner. Many parents also came along to support this fantastic event. We can't wait to do it all again next year!
